Gabhaji Thakore, founder of Bachchan’s mandir near Gandhigram railway station where the Big B’s birthday is being celebrated for the past 25 years, said, “A large number of fans attended the cake-cutting, aarti and the dance session organized by the club at the temple.”
Arvind Patel, a local lookalike of Bachchan who attended the Kaun Banega Crorepati show of the star last month and met Bachchan with other 14 members of the fan club, said, “I am invited every year to cut the cake at Bachchanji’s temple. In fact, I have now stopped celebrating my birthday
which falls on October 18.”
This year, the fan club had planned to unveil the actor’s two feet marble idol at the temple but had to postpone it till Diwali as the idol is still being made at Ambaji. The idol is based on the look Bachchan sported in the movie Sooryavansham.
